The Game's Reality Show About Marriage

The Game loves to stay in the news.  One day he’s quitting hip-hop to be a good role model to his sons, the next he’s name dropping or talking about chopping down some female, then he’s posting a video on YouTube beating up 40 Glocc.  You never know what this “former” gang-banger is going to do!  Well, The Game plans on turning heads again…this time on his new reality TV show.  No word on what the show will be called but it will focus on circumstances surrounding The Game marrying his fiancĂ©e Tiffany Cambridge.  All of this will lead up to The Game getting hitched on camera…AND WE GET TO WATCH!! Filming has already started and the show is currently being shopped around to MTV and VH1.

THIS JUST IN: I probably will not be tuning into this one. Will you?

Cassidy Has Beef With Meek Mill

It’s hard to say who’s the hottest artist signed to MMG, it really boils down to your taste.  Whether you like the poetry of Wale or grunts of Rick Ross- - you can’t spell MMG without Meek Mill!

Meek Mill is undeniably one of the hottest and hardest rappers in the game.  His gritty rhymes that speak for the streets and versatile delivery easily set him apart from his competitors.  There is no doubt that since aligning with MMG that he is putting on for his city.  But of course...there are the haters; more money more problems.  Earlier this week, Meek Mill got into a verbal altercation with a pastor that has taken offense to his hit song “Amen.” Now (via Twitter) fellow Philly rapper Cassidy has decided to jump on the bandwagon.  Cassidy is apparently not feeling the love.

Here’s the thing…

Spare us Cassidy.

It’s no secret that Cassidy has struggled for years trying to garner mainstream success on a consistent basis.  He’s had a couple of hot singles here and there but at best he is a battle/mixtape rapper.  That’s not Meek Mill’s fault. I’m tired of these rappers that were “once hot” feeling like the new generation needs to pay homage or collaborate on a song.  If the older heads don’t get their way, they send shots over twitter or at shows.  Come on really?  Just because Meek Mill and Cassidy are from Philly does not mean Meek Mill owes him a favor.  I’m sure if things were the other way around Cassidy would not lend a hand to Meek Mill.  Apparently, Meek feels the same way. Check his response to Cassidy here.

Singer Frank Ocean Comes Out Of The Closet

Thank you Anderson Cooper!!

Earlier today Bossip revealed that Frank Ocean has some questionable tracks on his debut album, Channel Orange.  Although there were only a few details, it’s suggested that Frank Ocean is singing about the same sex.  Well… via Tumblr Frank Ocean has decided to put all of the rumors to rest. Check out his statement here.

Regardless of his sexual orientation, Frank Ocean is an amazing artist and songwriter who has only hit the tip of the iceberg.  He should be acknowledged for his courage and honesty.  It takes a strong person to go against the norm in the music industry.  Now we can shift our focus back to his incredible music.  Channel Orange will hit stores on July 17th.

Favorite Moments From 2012's BET Awards

Everybody is still taking about Sunday’s BET Awards.  Although Samuel L. Jackson wasn’t the most entertaining host and some of the performances were mostly bleeped out, there were still some great moments.  Check out my favorite moments down below:

-The Whitney Tribute: This Whitney Tribute I loved the most.  It just seemed like a lot of thought was put into it in order to celebrate her life. I looked at it like a second line that a deceased person would have in New Orleans:  We got to cry, mourn, reminisce, and dance.  Monica sang like she was auditioning for a record deal; her voice is strong and soulful.  Secondly, Cissy Houston…how can you not feel for her?  No mother should have to bury their daughter.  However, she touched everyone singing a “Bridge Over Trouble Water.”  BUT I’m giving the stand out moment in the tribute to none other than BRANDY!!! WHEN I SAY BRANDY GOT DOWN!!! She was flawless! Performing “I’m Your Baby Tonight” and “I Want To Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” we got to see a side of Brandy that we haven’t seen in a while.  You have to give props when it’s due. She sang live, she danced with her background dancers, and stayed on key.  Not to mention she was animated while doing Whitney Houston justice. I screamed like a little girl during her whole set. Brandy is back!

-D’Angelo’s performance: Yes his outfit and hair was awful.  He looked like they caught him right off the prison bus!  But his voice is undeniable. If you closed your eyes during the performance you would swear it was the year 2000.  And when D’Angelo got on the piano…ggiiirrrllll!  Thank you BET for letting D’Angelo groove!

-Beyonce Checking Mindless Behavior: I loved the fact that during her acceptance speech for Best Female R&B Artist, Beyonce checked Mindless Behavior for that tacky Lauryn Hill joke.  Yes, Twitter and the whole world agreed that it was too soon.  These little boys are Another Bad Creation 20 years later.  They have barely hit puberty but feel the need to make a joke about Lauryn Hill and her tax situation? Lauryn Hill’s music is timeless and she paved the way for female artists (as Beyonce kindly mentioned).  Boys will be boys I guess.

-Maze feat. Frankie Beverly:  The Lifetime Achievement Award was way overdue.  The greatest parts though were Frankie Beverly’s acceptance speech and the performance. I two-stepped my way through the whole performance.  Tyrese is always in somebody’s tribute…but when he got down with Frankie Beverly and Maze…I almost screamed: “Alright chocolate Ty!!”

-There’s a three-way tie for my last favorite moment: It has to be Beyonce and Jay-Z squaring off (their love is special), Jay-Z interrupting Kanye (Taylor Swift probably could careless), and Nicki Minaj yelling at the end of her acceptance speech “Step Your Di*k Up” (it was so random).

Chris Brown's Drake Diss

It’s been about two weeks since the infamous fight between Drake and Chris Brown at club W.i.P.  While all parties kind of denied involvement and pointed fingers at everybody else…the tension is still thick. Meek Mill and Rihanna have stayed out of it, while Wayne wants Drake to call a truce because it’s bad for business.  Welp, that’s wishful thinking. Breezy decides to take it to the booth to discuss his feelings about Drake over Chief Keef’s infectious “I Don’t Like.”

You already know this is a diss track so take a listen here. Game warms it up first, while Breezy follows.

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen. Chris Brown strikes first with a diss track as wack as Wayne’s response to Pusha T. Chris Brown has rapped better on mixtapes, his own records, or even features.  But at least he said SOMETHING.  Got to respect the fact that he let it be known he was talking directly to Drake and no one else.  Will Drake respond directly or even at all? I doubt it, he will just say Breezy is trying to “reach just to sell his records.”

R.Kelly Discusses His Failed Marriage

June has been a busy month for R. Kelly.  Earlier in the month TMZ reported that R. Kelly owed Uncle Sam nearly $5 million in taxes from the years 2005-2010.  This week, R. Kelly cancelled all of his appearances in NYC because he had an emergency health scare that kept him sidelined in Chicago.  You would think these things would keep R. Kelly out of the spotlight right? Think again. This time R. Kelly grabs headlines with his new book (released on Thursday) Soulacoaster, The Diary Of Me.  In it he describes his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly throwing her $50,000 wedding ring in a pond.  You have to read the article to hear his explanation.

Whatever you say Kellz? Not only did you have a problem keeping it in your pants, but you also had a thing for underage girls.  But whatever gets people to read your book and sells your new album, Write Me Back.
Meanwhile his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly, is the star (alongside Nicole Murphy) of the newest VH1 reality show: Hollywood Exes.  Catch it on Wednesdays at 9pm.
